Career Expos, Job Fairs and More

Career expos, job fairs, networking meetings, and other career-related events abound, both online (virtual) and in-person. While attendance at these events usually won't bring you a flood of job opportunities the next day, they remain a potentially valuable tool for career management and job searching. Approach them as a chance to meet people you wouldn't otherwise encounter, get an idea of which companies you might want to work for (and the people to talk to), conduct informal "field research" on possible industries or professions, and generally increase your visibility.

Because there are so many career events, you will obviously want to choose your events carefully to maximize your time and energy. The focus should be on participating only in those events that make good sense for your particular needs and goals.
